The FAQ

Where do you photograph? Do you Travel?

I’m flexible and portable, so sessions can take place in a variety of settings. I use a studio space in Red Deer, but I also photograph in clients’ homes, at their businesses, or in public-access areas. Not having a storefront allows me to offer more affordable and accessible services. I’m happy to travel outside Red Deer—just reach out, and we’ll discuss the details.

What is your approach during a session?

I see every session as a collaboration. The best images come from working together, with trust, communication, and a shared understanding of what we’re creating.

I’ll guide you throughout the experience so you never feel unsure of what to do, while also leaving space for natural moments to unfold. The more open and present you are in the process, the more meaningful your images will feel.

What if my dog or child doesn’t behave perfectly during the session?

That’s completely okay, and honestly, expected.

My approach is built around patience, flexibility, and a blend of gentle direction with natural moments. Whether it’s a curious child or an energetic dog, I work with their personality rather than against it. Some of the most meaningful images come from those in-between, unplanned moments.

Can you help with planning?

Absolutely! I collaborate closely with clients to create the best possible experience. I can make recommendations for locations, wardrobe, session vibe, and products to ensure your vision comes to life. If there’s anything I can do to make the process smoother, just let me know.

What should we wear for our session?

I recommend choosing clothing that feels comfortable and true to you, in tones that complement the environment and each other. Soft, neutral, or earthy colours tend to photograph beautifully, while bold logos or busy patterns can be distracting.

I’m always happy to help you plan something that fits both your style and the overall feel of the session.

Can I request specific poses or shots?

Absolutely. If there are specific images or ideas that are important to you, I’m happy to incorporate them.

My approach is a balance of gentle guidance and natural moments, so we can include your vision while still allowing space for the session to unfold in an authentic way.

Do you retouch photos? How will my photos be edited?

Yes! Every image is thoughtfully retouched, but the level of editing can be customized to your preferences. My personal style reflects my artistic vision with attention to light, colour, and mood, but if you have a particular aesthetic in mind, we can work together to achieve it.

Whats your turn around time? How many images will I receive?

All sessions are tailored to your unique needs. Curated galleries typically include 10–30 images per hour of shoot time, with a turnaround of 5–14 days. RAW files are never included, but images are archived for at least 12 months, so additional images can be purchased later if desired.

How will we receive our photos?

Digital images are delivered through a private online gallery, including high-resolution files suitable for printing and web-resolution files for easy sharing.

Artwork offerings are currently being expanded to include a curated selection of print and display options. Once available, you’ll have the opportunity to elevate your images into finished pieces for your home.

How do we book a session?

The best way to connect is through the contact form on my website or via Instagram/Facebook messaging. Due to spam calls, my phone number is not listed. Once we connect, we’ll discuss your vision and needs to ensure we’re the right fit.

How far in advance should we book?

Booking in advance is recommended, especially for golden hour or seasonal sessions, as availability can be limited.

If you have a specific timeframe in mind, it’s best to reach out early so we can plan accordingly.

What if the weather doesn’t cooperate for an outdoor session?

Weather is always a consideration, especially for outdoor sessions. If conditions aren’t ideal, we can reschedule or adjust plans as needed.

I keep a close eye on forecasts and will be in touch leading up to your session so we can make the best decision together.
